Going out of town? Don’t let your sourdough starter feel abandoned.
Introducing The Bready Bunch’s Sourdough Starter Babysitting — a safe, happy little home for your fermenting friend while you’re away. 🫶🍞
I’ll feed, maintain, and monitor your starter so it’s bubbly, active, and bake-ready when you return.
What’s included:
🥣 Regular feedings with organic all-purpose flour and filtered water
🌡️ Temperature-controlled environment
📸 Optional “starter update” photos
🚶♂️ Pick-up/Drop-off options (if local to Parker, CO)
✨ Long-term or short-term care for only $5/day
If your starter is like family (no judgment here 😉), I’ll treat it like my own.
Sourdough Starter Babysitting – Terms & Conditions
1. Starter Health on Arrival
Please bring your starter in good condition.
If it arrives neglected, contaminated, or already struggling, I’ll do my best — but results can’t be guaranteed.
2. Care & Feeding
Your starter will be fed and maintained according to normal sourdough-care practices (unless you provide specific instructions).
If you have a particular flour or hydration preference, please let me know in advance.
3. Natural Variability
Starters are living cultures and can behave differently based on temperature, flour, hydration, and travel.
Some changes in aroma, activity, or texture are normal and not considered damage.
4. Accidental Loss or Contamination
While I take great care with every starter, accidents can happen.
In the rare event your starter becomes contaminated, inactive, or (heaven forbid) passes on, I will provide:
✔️ A replacement from my own mature, active starter
This replacement is the full extent of my liability.
5. Container Responsibility
Please bring your starter in a clean container with a secure lid.
I’m not responsible for damage to glass jars or lids.
6. Pick-Up & Drop-Off
Starters must be picked up within 24 hours of the agreed return time unless otherwise arranged.
Unclaimed starters may be fed, refrigerated, or discarded at my discretion after 3 days.
7. No Consumption Warranty
I’m responsible for the starter, not any bread you bake after!
Your loaves’ success depends on many factors — hydration, shaping, fermentation, baking conditions, moon phase, etc. 😉
8. Agreement
By booking sourdough starter babysitting, you agree to these terms.
